Our
Strategy and Our Purpose Goals
Offer
Support to Churches
We help
churches clarify their vision, plan their growth, balance and improve their programs, find
pastors and staff, train their leaders, solve problems, resolve conflicts, find and build
facilities.
At least
90% of our congregations having vision statements that reflect the Great Commandment and
Great Commission principles.
Reinforce Church Leaders
We provide encouragement, training, counsel, and
support for our pastors, staff, lay leaders, and their families. Growing churches
require growing leaders.
Assist in training 25% of Associational
church leaders annually in leadership development.
Assist in Church Planting
We assist our churches reproduce themselves by
consulting sponsor churches, providing resources for new churches, and by targeting areas
that need more churches. We want to measure the strength of our churches by their
sending capacity, not their size.
Enlist twenty churches who will sponsor new
church starts.
Network Church Ministries
We respond to the growing diversity of needs of
our county. Each of our congregations have strengths and unique ministries that the
rest of our churches can benefit from. By sharing our ministry strengths, our
churches complement each other rather than compete. Help provide world wide
information for mission involvement.
All of our churches will have electronic
mail to enable us to network together. Help cluster church leaders together in areas
of support and like ministries.
Grow in Fellowship Together
We encourage each other in the Lord. The
New Testament clearly teaches that God honors and blesses unity in fellowship.
Prayer partner relationships with leaders and churches will enhance a strong bond of love
and concern.
At least 75% of our congregations
participating in a fellowship and prayer relationship with other congregations in our
association and participating in our annual meeting to see how God is working through our
ministry in Orange County.
Enhance the Witness of Southern Baptists in
Orange County
We demonstrate Christian action to our county by
responding to local disasters in the name of Christ, by presenting a positive witness to
the media, and by organizing countywide events and advertising.
At least 90% of churches participating in a
partner relationship with our association by making local missions a financial priority
with at least 5% of their undesignated offerings. At least 10% of our membership
involved in marketplace evangelism daily.
