HUNDREDS GATHER AT KNOTT'S BERRY FARM FOR THE 69TH SUNRISE SERVICE

By Bailey Small

BUENA PARK, CALIFORNIA - There was an air of excitement as Dr. Victor Chayasirisobhon opened the 69th Sunrise Service in a word of prayer. This was the first time since 2019 that the service was held at Knott's Berry Farm due to Covid 19 restrictions. Pastor Victor commented, "It was a joy to see the family gathered together to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It was not so many years ago that I was speaking here and to be back as the Director of Missions is exhilarating and I am so grateful to everyone who put in the hard work to put it together."

Pastor Josh Sanchez (First Southern Baptist Church of Anaheim) delivered the sermon for the first time at the Sunrise Service.

Pastor Josh commented, "It was an honor to share God's Word at the return of the sunrise service. This moment in our OCSBA history was special and it was good to just be back in person with the family once again. Being up there with my brothers, Moses, Pastor Abel, Pastor Tye, and Pastor Victor made it all the more special."

"The Easter Sunrise Service at Knott's Berry Farm blessed me and my family so much. I really felt the love and camaraderie of dedicated fellow believers. It was beautiful to gather together to celebrate our risen Savior Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. The Garage Band was joy filled and upbeat and brought that good time southern gospel worship! I look forward with my family with anticipation for next year." - Christiana Lohman, member of the Garage Church.

"All who planned and prepared - OCSBA church pastors, leaders, worship team, and staff provided an inspiring and joyful service. We always appreciate the graciousness and kind assistance of the staff of Knott's Berry Farm." - Carol Harris, OCSBA Administrative Bookkeeper.

The Orange County Southern Baptist Association partners will once again partner with Knott's Berry Farm for next year's 70th annual sunrise service on resurrection Sunday 2023.
