Amid the heat of July, 3 of our OCSBA churches including FBC Walnut Valley, Faith Fellowship, and FBC Cypress went on missions to Lamont, CA to help a fellow church and the migrant workers who go there. They brought donations from many other OCSBA churches and ministries to help install air conditioning units and brought the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who would hear it. OCSBA churches continue to make a commitment to work together as a family, to go out on mission and to work hard until Jesus returns.
OCSBA global missions strategist and senior pastor of First Baptist Cypress, Pastor Trevor Cooper said, "OCSBA Churches united together this summer on July 12-14 to do Mission work with the community of Lamont, California at Harmony Baptist Church's one-day event. Three OC Churches of 45 team members dedicated their weekend to battle the summer heat to reach Migrant Workers and their families for Christ. One team member said "The harmony between churches was just amazing to see how we worked together so well as we served." Another team member mentioned how many dogs they encountered while visiting people at their homes and invited them to the church and they added, "we actually saw most of them there the next day!" We had over 170 people come to our One-Day Sports Camp in Lamont, CA. Twelve children made decisions to receive Christ or be baptized! In that afternoon, we had distributions of 100 clothing kits, 25 food kits, 109 backpacks filled with school supplies. Then our team served 160 burgers and 65 hot dogs. We can't wait to serve together again next year in 2025."
